Mobile Systems
Mobile Systems
Mobile devices are compact, battery-powered systems that rely on passive cooling. This makes them a fundamentally different optimization challenge compared to other devices that you may be more familiar with, such as PCs and game consoles, which use large heat sinks and active cooling.
This chapter includes:
- Mobile devices: The main hardware components inside a mobile device, and why they matter for performance.
- Device variation: Why different classes of mobile device expose different performance limits.
- Data matters: Why data efficiency matters as much as code efficiency when optimizing GPU workloads.
